ok i have this wicked sharp pain in my left side just below my rib cage... what could it be???

ok, the pain that was in my left side, just below my rib cage, has now spread a little to my lower left back...

Assuming you didn't pull a muscle, along with the other suggestions given, it could also be kidney stones, kidney infection, gall stones, gall bladder infection, pancreantitis or any other number of digestive problems.

Are you running a fever? Even a low-grade fever is a sign of an infection. If you have a fever or if the pain continues or gets worse, you need to call your doctor or go to the ER.

I'm not saying you have one but I went to the gynocologist because my side was hurting and I had to get a ultrasound to find out I had a small cyst on my ovary. Go get it checked out soon so they can take care of it before it gets worse.

My friend had a pain in her side one time, she got it checked it out and it was a bladder infection.

Left side is usually bowl problems such as Diverticulitis.
