ok i've liked this guy like for 5 years but he treats me as a friend,and a friend only im not sure if i still like him or if im beginning to feel for him in a more brotherly way... i mean after knowing him for so long... i dont exactly miss him all that much...but everytime i see him,i get butterflies in my tummy,i cant speak properly and all there is when you meet your crush.But when i do actually calm down..i dont really feel anything...and im like really really confused. is this a crush or brotherly-love? I honestly can say that I have NEVER gotten butterflies in my stomach when around someone whom I as brotherly. Only you can answer the question by being honest with yourself. Do you feel safe with him? Does he bring out something in you no one else does? Something about him is special to you and not in a "brother" type way. Sometimes people get confused when they equate love with a constant barrage of thoughts about someone, or needing to have them with you all the time, when in reality... True love is comfort, security, best friends, companionship and intimacy on a non sexual level (yes really!).
For his part, maybe he is reacting to what you are putting out there.... He only treats you as a friend because you put out "you're just my friend" vibes... Either way, I think it is worth exploring! :) Be brave!!! :) and the best of luck !

seems to me like brotherly love. maybe you are really fond of him and that is why you get those butterflies innitially, but like you said, they seem to fade away. i know that it has been 5 years and you know him really well and may have feelings for him, BUT my advice would be to not reveal your feelings until he makes the first move. i had a similar thing happened to a friend of mine, however, they only knew eachother for two years until she started to fall for him, and what ended up happening is that she revealed her feelings and he said he "kind of" felt the same way. both were confused. decided to go out, and well it did not last and things were never the same again.
so just know that things may not be the same. or they may. it all depends. but personally, my advice if for you to wait until her shows you that he has developed feelings for you too. and once you are 100% sure then you can follow through and see where that goes, but even if you may think he likes you, do not mistake that with the brother-sister love that you two may have.
i do not want to see you get hurt and put your feelings out there. so please wait and see how he treats you...

Honestly i think its a crush. It sounds very similar to how i felt about this girl a while a go. I thought i loved her, but it was just an infatuation. But i can say that if this guy does like you secretly, the last thing he wants to hear is that you think of him a brother. Why don't you get it over with and just ask him to be your brother. He will laugh at this, and then tell him he doesn't know anything about women. You will get into a huge fight and then make-up with a kiss 1 hour later in the movie. Cheers for everybody!

i think u still like him but because u hav know him so long u are comfy around him and feel that u can be urself which is definatly a good thing... but only u truley know if u like him or not so search ur heart and stop thinking with ur head...

not your fault, it is all about the guy. let's see his personality. in normal case, if he loves you, he will already said or do so to let you know, otherwise he is dumb or embrassed to show his love. in other ways, he doesn't like you, but he doesn't have any other choice, so he just wait and wait until some girl he likes, then he will be your bro.
