According to the Bible, historical Babylon must be rebuilt so that God may destroy it. Saddam was in the middle of rebuilding it when he was deposed by the US invasion.
I imagine that someone else will step up and continue the rebuilding process.

Saddam is not metioned it the Bible, but yes the rebuilding of Babylon is. I have seen pictures of stones that Saddam used in rebuilding his temple that Nebuchannezer used in his. It is believed that the AntiChrist will sit at the throne of the Babylon during his rule. This is why Iraq is at the center of all this "Holy War" "Jihad" stuff going on in the Middle East.

Jenn: All in all, Saddam means zilch ! Ancient Babylon does not factor into the prophesy equation other than its tie to the Muslim religion. Europe will be the power to eventually intervene into the Muslim nations attempt to "push" at Israel to destroy Jerusalem [Jews]. The U.S. and U.N. will long be "out of the picture" for various reasons by that time. The real question should be. "Now, that Saddam is dead, what will happen in Iraq ?"

I heard things years ago, like he was rebuilding ancient Babylon. I don't specifically know that to be truth. I think that if it were true that he probably would have gotten a lot more attention for it in the secular media. But as far as him being in Biblical prophecy, he has no direct affect on the fulfillment of Bible prophecy that I am aware of at this moment.

However, I will say this, I think that everything of significance in that region these days is adding to the seething cauldron that the Middle East is. That's why I say, no "direct" affect on the fulfillment of Biblical prophesy. It's like that eighties song, "one thing leads to another."

It means that Iraq is now free to move forward, rebuilding the infrastructure of their nation. And please do not forget...
Babylon may not refer to THAT Babylon. It could very well refer to another ancient city referred to as Babylon. Watch for the City on Seven Hills.

But even better, keep in mind that Jerusalem is the centerpiece of Bible prophecy, not Babylon, not Rome, not Washington DC.

Not a thing .There is just no relationship.Ancient Babylon is gone forever . Christian prophesy is a farce. the only resemblence is that ignorant people have been trying to duplicate the prophesies for centuries.
Peace out

He started to rebuild Babylon so I suppose that someone else will finish it and then prophesy will be fulfilled.

Nothing a man does will keep the plans of God from happening. One man whose past has caught up with him. Another will take his place.

I find Bible prophesy a tad to vague to be of any real use
