Two days ago, I was having a great time. I was with a group of three of my best friends, helping my best friend Kim repaint her bedroom. I was up on a ladder then all of a sudden out of the blue, I was overcome with a huge wave of lonliness. I just suddenly felt like crap. No rhyme or reason to it.
I have been single for what seems like for ever, and I have always been okay with being single. I dont date people just to be dating someone. But I dont know why it hit me so hard all of a sudden. And why just then, when I was having so much fun with my friends?
Makes me think of something my friend used to say.
You can be lost on a deserted island all alone with only a vollyball to keep you company and be completely content, but there you can be lost in a crowd of people and feel like your all alone.
I dont like feeling like this.
I am at ease with the way I live my life and dont mind being singel so much, but then, how can that be entirely true when I feel so alone?

depression can hit you out of the blue when you least expect it.. it happens to me all the time.
i can totally relate to feeling lonely in big crowds. being around couples really irritates me. makes me feel left out.
you may enjoy being single and alone at times, but deep down, we all crave love and companionship..

A person can feel lonely in a room filled with people. We all need a connection and maybe thats what your missing having a special connection with someone, not necessarily with a parter, just a connection. Try having lunch with just one of your friends. Maybe the one on one connection is all you need. Good Luck.

When you are in a crowd of people and you feel all alone, like you don't belong, people who believe in reincarnation say it's your last life. I feel that way all the time...at a party I am the one in the corner wanting to get away

To answer your first question.. Is there more to lonliness than being alone? I'd say yes. Your body subconsciensly longs for love. You may not know it, but I think our bodies do long for someone to love it!

There are pluses and minuses to being married or being single, and I think it is normal to occasionally look at the other side and think only of the positives they are experiencing.
