If so, can you give me chapter and verse please?

Thanks everyone for your help.

Putting it all together, it looks like the Jebusites were folk from Jebu, an ancient settlement which was later annexed by King David and became part of Jerusalem.

The laurels have to go to sunestauromai, who came up with chapter & verse.

Cheers!

Joshua 18:16 It went down to the foot of the hill that faces the Valley of Ben Hinnom. The hill is north of the Valley of Rephaim. The border continued down the Hinnom Valley. It went along the south slope of Jerusalem, where the people of Jebus live. It continued on to En Rogel.... Not a PERSON, but a GROUP.

"Jebus" may have been an actual person, but it is hard to tell. The name first appears in the OT as the name of a small city/town. The Jebusites lived there before the Isrealites moved in, and named it Jerusalem.

I know that the city of Jerusalem was, before King David's time, two towns, one called Jeru (Yea-roo) or Jebu, and the other called Salem. He joined them together into one capital city.
