My bookbag is always too heavy and it has been that way since elementary school. I pack correctly, use both shoulder straps (and they are quite wide), and I only bring home what I need. Still, my bookbag weighs 30-50 lbs. I go to the chiropractor a lot but of course it's only temporary. My back is always way out of alignment when I go and I've already had problems with hurting myself by just bending over (without the bookbag). I don't want to be humpbacked by the time I start college. Is there anything I can do for more permanent relief? I don't know what else to do, but I would like to be able to move in the future.

They make the coolest looking back packs now that have wheels. The wheels can be hidden and you can use it as a regular back pack also.
They cost a bit more, but it would be so worth the extra$$

Well... You Must Had Lots Of Work Well That Happened to Me Too Well You Should Put Homework In A Little Backpack Case Pocket And Put The Books In A New Backpack And Every Day When You Come Home If You Know Any Massage Therapist Ask If You Can Have A Massage Daily So Your Back Doesn't Hurt Also Get A Massager Too So If He Or She Is Not There I Did That And It Worked.

find a local massage therapist- might try finding a practicing school - can get massages for less. That'd help with the pressure and can stretch your back out more- in between chiro. visits . And good massage therapist can align your back again as well with simple movements before it gets real bad. Also try the rolling bookbag thing- that'd help alot.

There are some really good ergonomic backpacks out there - do a search for Airpacks, or ergonomic backpacks. Is there any way that you can carry some of your books in your arms to lighten the load on your back?

I hear about this on the news all of the time and the best answer is to get a rolling backpack.

carry the heaviest books under your arms and stuff the rest in your bag. It helps distribute the weight and helps take that constant pull off your back. It really works, try it.

hmmm you could use the stroller, that way it will be very light coz your just going to pull it... the whole weight of the bag is on the wheels and not on your shoulders.. for shoulder relief you could use salonpas or any stick-on muscle reliever....

Get a rolling backpack and pull it instead of carrying it.
