The thing that is illegal is having sex with her. Dating is fine (going out to a movie and dinner). If you want to be involved for a long time, then I recommend being careful. If she gets pregnant and the child can be proved to be yours, most states (I'm assuming you're American) and some countries will put you in jail.
If you really love her and can afford to keep her (meaning you can afford a home or apartment for both of you) you might decide to marry her. There are still states where this would be allowed with her parents permission. I recommend finding a good law sight or a lawyer for more information based on your situation. Your question deals with legal issues and this isn't a place where people are allowed to give legal advice.

Yeah its not illegal since your age difference is only 2 years, most states is a difference if you are like 4-5 years appart. The parents are the only ones that can actually press charges too. BTW those people saying all the things about not being able to have "relations" anymore are wrong. Just google statchetory rape followed by the state you live in if you want more info.

Depending on where you reside, there are different laws. In NJ, the age of 16 is also the age of consent. As long as there is not more than 4 years between the 16 year old, (say a 16 year old and 20 year old ) would be considered illegal. Check your state's laws. Also, as long as you're not sexually active, you have nothing to worry about. Good luck.

You can still date her. As long as her parents aren't gonna turn you in, and even still you can get around that. When I was 16 I was dating a 22 year old (worst mistake of my life) My parents tried to put a restraining order on him and put him in jail but at that age it's pretty much all consentual. U've got nothing to worry about.

When I was 16 my parents let me date my 18 year old boyfriend.
There's not much of an age difference and I was the mature one.
I don't see it as a problem at all.

You can certainly date her, there's no law against that. As far as sexual activity goes, though, you'll need to check your state consent laws. In most states in the US, the age of consent is usually between 16 and 18. Check http://www.avert.org/aofconsent.htm for what the laws in your area are.
http://www.ageofconsent.com provides additional information, but at the moment the site seems to be down.

Depends, in some states 16 is ok as long as your younger than 21. And its really a moral thing, if the parents want to be mean they can press charges as long as everyone is cool with it you shouldnt have any problems.

You really need to check the laws in your state. Some states it is ok and others no adult can have sex with anyone under 18.

You are treding on thin ice, make sure her parents are ok with you dating their daughter and make sure you the 2 of you do not have sex this could lead to serious problems for you with the legal system, as in statuatory rape, so be careful.
