Some of the answers here are hostile and false. A son is no better than a daughter in Islam, and it is a very great and stressed sin to kill your children for any reason.

Birth control is not allowed, I dont know what hadith reference one lady was refering to. The only 'birthcontrol' method that many Muslims do (whether it is permitted or not I really am not sure) is the 'pull-out' method. But personally, I consider even that wrong.
Human life is precious in Islam, contrary to belief nowadays. Terrorism is not Islam, and the terrorists are sinners. Life is a gift from God, and no innocent person should be killed, and we should all have the opportunity to live our lives- which means no birth control.

In Islam, "birth control",is not allowed. If you want to control how many babies you have, don't have excessive sex.In Islam, that is natural birth control. If you don't want 10 kids, don't "work on it"10 times. And besides, most Muslims don't worry about birth control because we believe the life, death, and gender of child lies completely in God's hands. So all those people who say Muslims prefer boys over girls need to shut up.In fact I know a Muslim Man from Egypt who says that he only wants 1 boy and 2 or 3 girls. We believe a girl has EVERY RIGHT to be as loved and educated as a boy.We believe a girl is EVERY BIT as human as a boy,and ALL FEMALES have a sole.

If both parents agree that it is in their best interest then it is fine. But to tamper with God's creation is a sin, so we can't turn to permanent birth controls such as tube tying.

I'm guessing that it would be sinful to prevent procreation because that may prevent having more sons, which is a blessing...
But I'm not Muslim...

Drowning at birth.

Ironically, they view abortion as a sin, but if a "Muslim" baby is born with cerebral palsy, 9 times out of ten, if the baby is born in Saudi Arabia, the baby is drowned in a bucket of saline solution and buried within 24 hours.
