windows media player 10, 11 - doesn't work. it required at least Win98 Service Pack 2.

try cyberlink dvd player or you coulld try windows media player 10 or 11

I installed VLC (Video Lan Client) player on my laptop's Windows 98, and I didn't even have SE1, but the laptop did also have PowerDVD installed on it too. VLC is available here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

PowerDVD was a great answer; I'm only also suggesting VLC Player because unlike PowerDVD, VLC is available for free...so even if it doesn't work, at least you didn't have to pay for it!

Try winamp its designed to work on most systems and doesn't require and service packs or anything.
