Saddam ceased to be a factor in the Iraqi drama the moment the US crossed the Iraq border. He isn't even a sideshow. His continued existance or lack of existance has no effect on the situation.

I don't think so. There will be some who will be happy he is gone and some who will not, Apparantly, under his rule, Iraq was prosperous, so it makes me think that those who benefitted will be the ones to oppose his death.
