My lady and the others I know all use a kettle that whistles, I guess were stuck in the old days up in Canada. A microwave just seems so lazy to me, but to each his own.

She has had that teapot longer than the house!! its the only thing that survived her first marriage!! lol we always joke its the best thing she got out of that marriage as well!! and it is!! if i saw her use a diff teapot it'd be weird, i can remember being a kid sitting at the bar waiting for the teopot to whistle!! its an old rusty teapot with mushrooms on it!! haha! but YES there are ppl out there that use the whistling teapots!!
the microwave probably would b easier but she loves that d a mn thing too much not to use it! why? i dont know!!!

I use it. It only takes a few minutes to boil the water. Not much longer than putting it in the microwave. I also think it's just a nice, more pleasant and aesthetic way to brew the tea.

I like my tea pot, But then again I'm a little old lady, and think the water for tea should be boiled and the tea should steep for 3-5 min. CALL ME OLD FASHION BUT DON'T KNOCK IT TILL YOU TRY IT>>>>

I use a whistling tea kettle to heat water for my tea or hot chocolate. For some reason it seems to taste better.

My mom had one on her stove. It is on my stove now. Yes it is easier to micrwave a cup of water but if you have a few people drinking hot chocolate, tea, or instant coffee it is easier to heat up the kettle.

I'm GRITS [girls raised in the South] and even I use the microwave to make that Southern delight, sweet iced tea.
