download AVG Free, and then scan your computer.
Sounds like you picked up something shady with a file on limewire, most likely a trojan.
If AVG doesn't find anything, which is rare, you have something else wrong with your computer, sounds like maybe something messed up in windows explorer, like a directory entry or two got deleted.
If you ever get it fixed, drop limewire like it was on fire, covered in hydrochloric acid and giving off nerve gas.

Task Manager: Press and hold down Control and Alt keys with left hand, press Delete with the right -- simultaneously.
Sometimes you just have to keep trying until you "get it right."
As for Calculator and Wordpad - aren't they in Programs, Accessories?

By downloading and using lime-wire, that is the conscience , You have virus and Trojans that are sometimes hard to get rid of them. If you get rid of them never go back. Many people don't know this but when you install Lime-Wire you open your to computer to any else in the world that searches for a song or file.

maybe your virus software is not good enough, not that its not worth it ,its that the program virus definitions aren't updated,
and the possible virus you already have has been working silently
but surely for a while, lime wire lately is turning problematic for lots of people, erase as soon you can lime wire from your PC
and then get this software, superantispy, its free to try ,and see what happens, then if you want to install again another p2p program, you can use e-mule or bit-comet
