"I was"

2006-12-29 13:42:30 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 1 1

I'm quitting smoking at the end of this year (not much time left, puff puff puff) and one of the things you do in my quitting smoking program is write your own eulogy. It's supposed to make the prospect of dying from cancer more real. I will be too deep in withdrawal to argue about that, so I have decided that I will do it and put a copy with my will just in case I get hit by a bus.

I think that my family and friends know me well enough that not a lot will need to be written, so I'll make it short and sweet, but it isn't something I want to do now.

Here lies a man, a man with faults, a man with vices, who nonetheless was counted on by his family and friends. His smile lighted many dark hearts, and his integrity long outlasted his innocence. Here lies a man, a man who understood himself, and strived to improve the lives of all those around him. He will be missed by few, however, they will never forget this man.

I dont want no eulogy read at my funeral. I want my preacher to preach at mine. I want the choir to sing. Bascially I want my funeral to be like one was in church. I allow I have done passed on, so speak to someone who needs the Lord like I needed him.

Chicky loved her husband and her children very, very much. She would want to be remembered as a person who was ridiculously happy, and wanted everyone else to be happy too. She would want you to remember the silly things she said to make you smile, the goofy poems and song parodies she wrote.

Chicky's legacy is her children. They have a love of learning, a sense of whimsy and a devotion to family that they learned from her. As long as they remember her, and start each day with smiles on their faces and songs in their hearts, Chicky will always be with us.

See, I tend to be a smart-***, so I'd go with something that has a dual meaning. Something like: "Sorry I'm Late..."

I thought therefore I was.
You think therefore you are.
Keep thinking
Keep being.
Keep doing.
AND keep and enjoying life while you are still here.
I did and I don't regret it.
I had fun, so thank you!
