Back in the day, when I was in middle school, they served some type main dish I have tried searching for many times. I don't remember what it was called. You could hold it in your hand and eat it. The outside was some type of dough. I'm almost positive it had cornmeal in it. The filling was similar to Taco Meat. I'm sure there was cheese in it. I'm not really searching for the recipe (if you have it, please share it), but for where I can order it and who makes it and what it's called. They served it with hot sauce. They DID NOT make them themselves, but bought from a food distributor. Any help would be great... I have searched for this many times!! Even if you can tell me the name (I am pretty sure they were NOT empanadas).
THANK YOU!

As an EX- hairnet wearing cafeteria manager these things you are referring to are called Taco Rolls!!!! They actually had a flour tortilla outside but, it was a yellowish coloring looking like cornmeal they are filled with taco meat and cheese and you could hold them in your hand kind of like a burrito. We (school district) used to get ours from the food distributor Sysco Foods. Sorry, I do not remember the brand but, I know what you are referring to!!! Hope this helps you!!!!???? I just remembered the brand name is Fernando's. ( i think!!)

I think you're talking about a taco pocket or a chalupa.
