Coconut oil is fantastic at pulling your hair back from the brink of despair.
And use a heat protection spray every time you use your straighteners, it really does work.

Quick immediate fix: Vitapointe - it's often forgotten, but a pea sized blob over dry and heat-damaged hair works wonders, bringing back the gloss and shine without being greasy. It'll help long-term too.

Longer term, and more important, use a deep conditioner of some kind - I found drenching the hair in olive oil for about 30 minutes before washing it was good (though you do smell a bit like pasta until you've had a shower!), also good are coconut, avocado and brazil nut oil, they'll deep condition too.
As well as this pre-wash treatment, use something like Aussie 3-minute miracle on your hair as conditioner, and leave it on for at least ten minutes to soak in before rinsing out.

After washing, use a glossing or anti-frizz serum, L'Oreal's orange one is very good for adding gloss and concealing heat damage.

I'd use the straightener a bit less too if you can bear to be frizzy or wavy for a week or two here and there... Experiment with crazy curls for a bit and give your hair a lift with pantene's curl-booster, which'll make it look healthier too.

I would first use a clarifying shampoo to get the residue out. An at home remedy is to comb olive oil through your hair and wrap your head in plastic wrap. Heat a towel in the microwave for a minute and wrap this around your head too. Keep it on for 30 minutes, then rinse out and shampoo. If your hair does not look healthier, you may need to go to Sally's Beauty and pick up 3 or 4 packets of a concentrated conditioner to do a few home treatments. They cost starting about 50 cents on sale. Best of luck to you!!

This sounds weird but I have heard mayonnaise works really well. Put a good amount between your hands, work it into your hair, and then wrap your head in a warm towel (heat in the clothes dryer). Leave on till the towel becomes cool, then wash as usual. But I would also say to give your hair a rest from all the chemicals, get a good trim, use a good conditioner, and maybe go curly for a while!

Use a good conditioner, loads you can buy in the high street but as a hairdresser i swear by Herbal anti oxy conditioner. Not available on the high street but you will be able to get it from a salon. Expensive but you only need a small amount and it lasts for ages. Its worth every penny and your hair will look fab. Regular trim every 6 weeks will also help. I straighten my long coloured/bleached hair daily but it still looks good. Dont forget to use a protective serum before you straighten each time.Good luck

i had dry hair and the only thing that made it better was a good hair cut! i know you must hate that but you cant quick fix in my opinion. after if you are using the straightners all the time, give it a rest when you dont work and use a deep conditioner, try to use heat protection spray aswell when you do use them. my friend got addicted to straightners and her hair was down to her waist, now she has had to have hair extensions and has been told that without them, she would have hair like a boy with a bowl cut. so be warned! x

I also dye my hair (natural mouse - dark chocolate) . although i should use colour shampoo, i found that Aussie miracle moist shampoo and conditioner are best. (i have tried loads over years) The trick is to put conditioner on and run it through every strand with fingers, then wrap in towel and leave on for around 20 mins. (i tend to do this when i first get out of bed, then go down for coffee and toast, by then i can shower and rinse it off). I also use straighteners, i use every day! Best thing is to section your hair for straightening as you do when drying and hold for less time, glide down in quicker strokes. Make sure you are using ceramic or glass straighteners! I recommend vo5 miracle spray, sparingly on ends if you still have frizzy or fly away ends. To protect hair from heat of straighteners. (I don't have frizzy ends ,now i use Aussie) Another product that is lovely is angel tears by GHD and frizzezz serum, bit pricey but they work on nasty ends! You don't say whether your hair is naturally curly or just wavey, just dry on ends or all over, thick, normal or thin..... obviously if your hair is thin and no natural body, then avoid weighing down hair with product, just apply to ends.Another great product i use is Vo5 straightening gel (around £3.45) just on wet ends and blow-drys really nice. I have tried all sorts of straightening sprays, lotions, etc, it really beats the rest and more exspensive ones hands down. Only use this on wet hair, before you blow dry though. Really dry hair could do with weekly deep conditioning treatment, again i would suggest frizzezz mask (99p for one) or Aussie deep contioning treatment (bottle around £4) both ranges are sold in boots or supermarket. Angel Tears i got from the hairdressers, so try yours or GHD on line, Vo5 sell in boots and supermarkets but usually sold out! Hope all that helps! Happy straight new year!

A hot oil treatment works wonders. I had really dry, frizzy hair, because I used to straighten every day, too. You can get a hot oil treatment almost anywhere.

Coconut oil does work miracles - buy the pure stuff in a health shop (often meant for cooking!), wet hair, pile in loads and leave for as long as you can before shampooing out. After conditioning just use enough to thinly coat hair before styling - hair product coconut spray can be added after styling. Works for me!

My favorite, is The Aussie Mega Products! I prefer the Aussie 3 minute Miracle Conditoner the best. It makes your hair feel so good, and you can notice a big difference in the way it feels and looks. Hope it works for you as well!
