Firstly, the US gives freedoms and rights that most other countries don't have. Also, the US economy and education systems are the best in the world. Thus, the illegal immigrants have more of a chance of earning a living and letting their children get a good education here in America. America is an amazing country. It's the dream of many, many people to come here.

Immigrants want to come here because they are hoping for a better life. As a second generation American, I can understand their desire to come here and escape social and economical hardships. However, I think that it would be better for everyone to stay where they are and fix the problems in their own country. I mean, America can't possibly hold the entire world! It's starting to get pretty crowded here already!
If immigrants put forth even half the effort that it takes to come here, legally or illegally, towards fixing their own country's issues it would be amazing!
I do also feel very strongly against illegal immigration. My own family immigrated here from Poland and I feel it's a slap in the face to everyone who had to follow the rules if we allow these people to stay without any penalties. Perhaps if we didn't send the mixed signals to Mexico, (you aren't allowed to come, but if you make it then you can have a job and free welfare money and schooling for your kids) and we actually enforced our laws, than the laws would be taken more seriously.

In Mexico they have their rich, their middle classes and their poor - The rich get their visas and passports, the middle class keep working and living and the poor just run away to look for a better life. They don't have the means to live there and think they can find the means in another country because their own government won't lift a finger to help them.

I think legal immigrants come here wanting to make contributions to our society and wanting to create better lives for themselves and their families. We are a nation of immigrants. The problem comes in when people think they do not have to abide by the laws of America and just come illegally. Then they no longer are in positions to benefit American society because they become a drain on our system. Illegals need to go home.

What exactly is "a better life?"
From Darfur, certainly, but from many other countries closer to us it's all about $$$. Many are using it to build mansions back in their home country and fully intend to go back to retire there?
Is that loyalty?
Does $$$ always mean a better life?
My dad wanted to move to Mexico after he retired but they have so many rules and regulations, least of which is a required income without having a job down there (illegal) and no ownership of property allowed.
Can u say double-standard?

Because their country sucks and they saw a way to make money. Now they are sucking the life out of our country. We need to kick them out before they make us the shining success that Mexico is.

Many reasons. $$$$$$, work, free health care during child birth, hopes for their kids, it can go on but that's what I see. Maybe hopes for themselves directly.
