The button itself has "o/d off" written on it. Im thinkin that if I push it in, the light will be on, and therefore, the o/d will be off. is the car supposed to have the o/d off or on, or is it just used sometimes, and when?....thank you!!!

I usually leave the overdrive (o/d) button 'unlit'. I gives my jeep an extra 'gear' and the transmission shifts a little faster. I used to share your problem with the rear window wiper. I just happened to get lucky. Mine wasn't working so i turned the wiper switch 'on' and left it on for about a week (even though the wiper still did not work). One day, i either shut the hatch or bumped the wiper while i was washing it (i don't exactly remember), and it started working. I have to do it every winter so it has a chance to 'unstick' itself. Hopefully, it will for work you also. Good Luck.

O/d is Over Drive, when you push it it turns the o/d off. When it's on, you get a little more power and speed. That's it, for us less car savvy.

overdrive or od is a extra gear for highway use. it is better left off in town and turned on while at highway speeds
