I did use it for a short while. I made 6 ounces of the formula and added 2 ounces of whole milk. Slowly I increase the amount of whole milk and decreased the amount of formula.

I used stage two until my son was 13 months old. That's when I started adding in milk and in a month we have phased out formula. If he is vomiting milk at that age, you should really take him to see the doc. Stage 2 would be good until you can get him there. Now is an important time as far as his nutritional needs are concerned. Does he have any problems with other dairy products?

Stage two is fine, it ups the amount of nutrients the growing baby needs for the second year. FYI, if your baby is throwing up milk, it could be because he is allergic to the milk protiens. This happened to a friend of mine while she was breastfeeding. Doctor took her off all dairy and baby was fine. Later down the road she tried giving him some milk and the baby vomited again. Found out he wasn't just sensitive, but allergic. Something to look into.

Yes-that is a good ides because it will give him the nutrients he needs while he is still not taking milk.My son is 20 months and occasionally has a bottle of stage 2 formula. It goes up to age 24 months.Your son is older now so requires more nutrition that the stage 1 could not provide.

I thought stage 2 forumula was for 8 -12 months. I used Nestle "follow up formula" at 8 mos... it was a little cheaper too. But vomiting up... it souunds like an allergy... i would ck with the doctor.

the formula for 9 -24 months??? I didnt b/c I could hardly get my daughter to drink her regular formula by 8 months of age. I tried it thinking that she may like the taste a little better but she wouldnt have anything to do with it. At 12 months we tried switching her to whole milk like her pediatrician told us, but she is just like me....WILL NOT DRINK MILK! there is no need to put them on the second step formula unless for some medical reason. does he maybe have a milk allergy? if not he may just not be quite ready to switch yet. But when he is, he will get all the same nutrients he needs from whole cows milk.Talk to you pediatrician to be sure of whats right for your child though. every kid is different. My daughter is still very small for her age and is almost 2. Our pediatrician told us a few months ago to start her on pediasure. She loves that but still hasn't gained much weight from it yet. Good luck!

I'd give it a shot- I gave it to my daughter from 10-12 months when she started drinking cow's milk.

Yes, I used this with my second baby. I used it for about a month to transition my 8 month old to milk... a little formula, a little water, and gradually added milk and decreased water/formula mixture until she was drinking 100% milk.. not exactly used according to directions, but worked great for us!

I'm giving my son the Enfamil Next Step Lipil. It's for 9-24mo. He switched from Enfamil Lipil with Iron last month (about 8.5mo at the time of the switch). I didn't do this with my oldest.

It's possible your child has a lactose intolerance. Have you tried Soy Milk?

Have you tried diluting the milk with a little water. Also try 2% milk before whole milk.
