There's hydro-generation / tidal energy systems.
There's creation of negative ion fields for accretion of mineral deposits (island and reef formations).
The laying of cable across the global oceans.
Sonar nets and the development of more whale/fish friendly sonar systems
There's the use of hydrodynamic propulsion (think the Red October)
Using EM fields to promote microbial growths on/around sea - fish farms.

I heard about an oceanic energy farm in the North Sea, (I think) or somewhere off the coast of England. Some use wind, some use wave power. Either kind should need EE's. And more can be built anywhere there is an ocean.

You are a natural ally of a marine biologist who needs some tracking done. GPS, radio and video recording, both remote and on-animal. It's all the rage with current concerns about habitat and migration of species.
