14 is the normal gauge. you dont wanna go any smaller than that because it will back out!

they usually always pierce it with a 14gauge. thats what most navel jewelry pieces are. but they always use a larger needle up so it is easier to get the jewelry in and the piercing will hela more easily this way.. a 14 g ia 1.6 mm and a 12g needle which you will be pierced with is 2 mm i know cause im looking at buyign 12 g jewelry cause thats how much i want to stretch my ears out too...lol.. but the jewelry it always 14g.
if you are only lamost 13? dont bet on gettign your navel pierced anytime soon. most piercers (reputatble ones) qont even touch you even if your mom is there. plus if you get ti done now. you dont even have your hips yet. ou will be growing alot. you will be more suseptable to migration and rejection at a young age an dnot fully grown yet....

14 gage is the normal size.but unless your parent or guardian is willing to sign there consent a good piercer will not due it due to the legal age in most states being 18.

a 14 or 16. small enough to not look too large and goofy and still big enough to be able to put cute jewels on it. :]
