Dear Micheele,
Here in the Zoo where I live, we tried and tried to be like Jesus. But to no avail. So instead of trying to be like him, we read what he had to say, and guess what? He doesn't want us to be like him. He just wants us to listen to him and learn two things.
1. He wants us to learn to get along with each other,
2. He wants us to pass a special test and go to Heaven, after our stay here on Earth.
How can we do both of those things at once?
Ta da, Ta da " Jesus said, "Forgive others, if you don't forgive others, your father in Heaven will not forgive your."
Now, those words have "iron" in them.
They are not mumbo jumbo self serving words from a Bubba Preacher. A Bubba Preacher who has only one goal; to build and grow his empire.
(Are you my daughter? I have not seen my older daughter for 10 years. Her name at birth was Dawn Michelle Thornton, but she always called herself "Micheele"?.)

It takes time and patience. Becoming like Christ is a long, slow process of growth. Spiritual maturity is neither instant nor automatic; it is a gradual, progressive development that will take the rest of your life. Referring to this process, Paul said,"This will continue until we are... mature, just as Christ is and we will be completely like him" Ephesians 4:13
You are a work in progress. Your spiritual transformation in developing the character of Jesus will take the rest of your life, and even then it won't be completed here on earth. It will only be finished when you get to heaven or when Jesus returns. At that point, whatever unfinished work on your character is left will be wrapped up. The Bible says that when we are finally able to see Jesus perfectly, we will become perfectly like him:" We cant' even imagine what we will be like when Christ returns. But we do know that when he comes we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is" 1 John 3:2
As the spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more. 2 Corinthian 3 :18

Change your way of thinking first. Think positive girl.
I give you kudos for wanting to be like the King.
No one can be perfect like Him, but we are to try to live holy.
One day at a time. Talk to him everyday, throughout the day, like you would have a conversation with your friend. Maybe read a scripture or two a day. Keep your mind stayed on the King. I'm trying myself.

Everyday we can try, but we will always fail. That doesnt mean to give up that just means we are not God.
