Some people want revenge on others. They want to feel a sense of power over others...and the black arts, with satan at the helm, promise this. And he gives, in return, utter destruction.

First there is a difference between voodoo and hoodoo. Voodoo tends to be the beneficial side (white magic) and hoodoo the negative side (dark magic). Before modern conveniences people had nothing better to use than the knowledge they had, so magic was used to help. When someone or something was in the way -a competing tribe or an illness- then they needed something to deal with that as well. Unfortunately, power corrupts the corruptible and that's how all magics become distorted. The combination of innocence and greed can make people do very weird things. Once educated, most people would not do half of what goes on to this day.

Voodooism is more of a participation in the occult arts, rather than a religion. I have never heard it spoken of as such. People practice it because they believe in it, and it is used to cast spells or bring an evil influence over another person whom they regard as an enemy.

,insert any religion group/cult/congregation into that, in place of Voodoo, and look around you for the answer . . . . fear is used by all religions and governments to control the area that people concentrate on instead of the smoke and mirrors that should be the main attraction..... it is no better or worse that any other tribal ceremonies that require no proof only supposition, enforced and enhanced by the number of rich and/or famous practitioners it has and fear.

The reason y the person who do voodoo on some one is that 1. They are jealous of them

2. Jealous of the person's education, career, destiny
3. Eyes one cosmic intelligence, powers, oneness with the supreme
4. Jealous of their beauty
5.Jealous of the person because their little black magic tricks dont work on the target
6.Want to turn a decent person into a whore, prostitute
7. Revenge due to not following their ideas or falling in ones dark manipulations

and so many more..

revenge is not really the victim fault its the freaking culprit who tries his/her best to ruin him/her but cant
so they opt for the stronger type of black magic with is voodoo unfortunately

victims of voodoo must pray deities like Kali, shiva, Hanuman (hindu) or Jesus Christ

You obviously know nothing about Voudon in actuality. Read some books, you'll find it is far better than that documentary presents.

The devil is drawing you toward the occuilt. The Bible has numerous commands to avoid magic or sorcery. This would definitely include voodoo. Are you sure you are really a Christian? Let me explain. Don't all people go to heaven when they die? And when you stand before Holy God and He asks why He should let you into His heaven, what reason will you give? Will you tell Him that you’ve lived a “good life” and that you are a “good person”? What does it take to be saved? Jesus said in John 3:3, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." Why does it matter so much? Isn't going to church and asking forgiveness enough? Here's the problem. We have all broken God's Law, the Ten Commandments. Who hasn't told a lie, stolen, used God's name in vain, or lusted after another person? We will all stand in God's courtroom one day and answer for everything we have ever done. If we are guilty (and we all are), we will end up in God's prison, which is Hell. The Bible says "All liars will have their part in the Lake of Fire" (Revelation 21:8). Maybe you think that lying is not that serious. Look at it this way: if I lie to my sister, she can do nothing. If I lie to my wife I will be sleeping on the couch or headed for a divorce. If I lie to the IRS I can go to prison for a long time. The punishment doesn't increase based on what kind of lie I tell, it increases based on the importance of the one I am lying to. So lying to God is the most serious kind of lying I can do and deserves the most severe punishment. Everyone must pay for their crimes, and God's standard is perfection. None of us measure up. How will YOU do on that day? We will all stand before God on Judgment Day, just like standing before a judge in a courtroom, and the Judge will pass sentence. So what can we do? Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins in His life's blood. You broke God's Law, Jesus paid your fine. That means your case can legally be dismissed and you can walk free from the courtroom on the Day of Judgment. What you must do to receive this free gift is repent--don't just tell God you are sorry, but turn from your sin and begin to live for God. Trust in Jesus Christ alone to save you, like the kind of trust you have in the pilot of an airplane when you fly. As soon as you do that, God will forgive every sin you have ever committed and you will be made righteous in God’s sight. The Holy Spirit will come to live inside you at that moment, and will help you change your life to be an obedient follower of Jesus Christ. He will witness to your spirit inside of you that you have been changed, and you will know it like nothing else you have ever known before. There is nothing you can do to earn your salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9). Good works won't help, they are only proof that you really are a Christian. You could pray something like this, in your own words, "God, I am sorry for all my sins against You. I turn from my sinful life right now and ask for Your forgiveness. Please save me and help me follow Your Word, the Bible. I place my trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, Father, for the gift of everlasting life! Amen." Your prayer will be shown to be real by your obedience to God's Word, so get a Bible and obey what you read. Start reading at the gospel of John and go forward from there. Find a good Bible-believing church to attend so you can fellowship with other believers, be encouraged and grow in faith. God will never let you down!

yeah. voodoo is so weird. not like Christianity wherein you worship a triune god, symbolically eat the flesh and drink and wash in the blood of the physical manifestation of that trinity, who came to Earth to offer himself as a blood sacrifice to himself in order to forgive his creations for being as they were created. and who will eventually return to Earth to destroy it and transport all his worshipers to bliss while tossing all nonbelievers into eternal torment..

yep Christianity isn't weird like voodoo.

People can be corrupted when they realize they have power over other people. I'm guessing that it's the power that corrupts them and makes them want to use it over other people. It probably makes them feel safe and powerful.

It's a mix of religions, actually. It is a modern mix of primitive ideas, Christianity and a lot of superstition.
