I told background interviewer that i didn't know, but I didn't realised that I have lied in the past. Should I call them and let them know before poly?

Don't call and try to fix this. It will come to you for an explanation. A Friend of mine failed his psych and poly because of this question. He insisted he wasn't a liar when asked. As stated earlier, everyone lies so just accept it. I would explain your answer as initial reaction but after some thought you realized you are a full blown liar and may need to seek therapy. OK, forget the therapy part, go with the rest though. Good luck.

They probably won't ask you that specific question, but they may ask you if you were less than truthful when filling out the questions. If you told them you didn't know, then that's not lying. Also, they know that everyone lies some of the time.

You lie to people all the time.

Haven't you ever the questions about:

-How do I look?
-Does this make me look fat?
-Wasn't that good?
-I couldn't get to the phone because I was......?

Relax, EVERYONE has lied to someone.
