I'd rather go to heaven too, but i think its based on our actions, if we love our neighbor, help them out, and just be a good person in general.

It's what we do in our lifetime that refects our personality and choices.

There is only one sure way to heaven, that is to receive salvation thru the blood of Jesus Christ, by confession of sins. That decision has to be made while you are alive, you cannot make that decision after you die.

If you want to choose heaven then get a bible, open it to the new testament & ask the Lord to guide you into the truth, this will also require an element of faith.

I pray you find what you are looking for

If you live in the USA and want to go to the UK, you need to check on the "laws" and "rules" which determine whether you will be admitted or not.

If you live on Earth and want to go to Heaven, you need to check on the "laws" and "rules" which determine whether you will be admitted or not.

God has given free will WHILE you are alive on this earth. He has also warned that "It is appointed unto a person once to die AND THEN the judgement".

You can choose heaven, if you want, while here. Make preparations for that destination. Make sure your "passport" is stamped so you will be admitted.

When you die, you have already made the decision.

By the choices we make in life I guess we do choose between Heaven and Hell in a way

No, we choose between Heaven or Hell now, today. That is why we were put on this earth to choose. Once you die it is too late....your chance to choose God and Heaven has already passed you by.

Yes I think you can choose if you want to got to hell or heaven. It depends,as you might know, how many good deeds you have done. After that god chooses what to recreate you into. The more good deeds you do, the better chance you being a human. The more bad deeds, you might end up as a fly or some other helpless creature.

yes, you can choose right now. we are "saved" (saved from hell=sent to heaven) when we confess that jesus is god--and more than that: that he is the christ prophecied in the old testament. and of course, it's not like saying abracadabra. you also have to believe this to be true, not just have said it.
from there the holy spirit will work in your life and conform you to the image of christ, meaning, you'll become a more and more godly person after you've admitted that jesus is god and are maintaining a relationship with him through prayer and reading his word.
i would reccommend reading the book of romans.

*edit*
yes, you can decide, but when you die, you've already bought your ticket.

It's too late when you die...
Going to heaven means accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior - do you love God and trust in HIm? Make a public confession of your faith and your life will change, and you will have the promise of eternal life.

You choose heaven or hell by the way you live- THAT is where your free will comes in. You can choose to work hard, not steal, tell the truth, avoid intentionally hurting anyone, and be kind in your actions, and chances are you will go to heaven.
You can choose to base your life on things such as stealing, killing, or intentionally hurting people directly ( e.g., assault, rape) or unintentionally ( e.g., selling drugs, which kills people and takes advantage of them), and you'll probably end up in hell.

Better to serve in heaven than reign in hell.
