then how good is good enough? How can you ever be sure that Jesus died for YOU? Or, how bad is bad enough?

Very simple - When you stand at judgement just ask God to let you in because you are good - I know what He will tell you - your application to join the Trinity has been denied. The only way you're getting in on account of good works is to be perfect, just like Jesus. If you have ever had a moment of inappropriate anger- hatred- rage- lust- envy- greed- sexual desire- . . . . . then you fall short. How bad is bad enough? Attach a chain to a rafter, overtop a chasm a mile deep. Grab hold of the end of the chain and dangle over the pit. How many of them have to break for you to fall? Just one sin in your entire lifetime, and you NEED Jesus.

There are no certain answers to any of these questions-- all you will ever get is someone's opinion, and there will be no shortage of those! If you are interested in my opinion, and there is no reason why you should be, I don't think there is a Heaven or Hell, and I am pretty sure that Jesus died, but not sure why or for whom.

We will never be worthy. That is the point of the Cross. What is impossible for us,is possible to God.That is how extreme he is,he would rather go through hell then to lose you.You are worthy.
Beside that you don't know bad. There was a man who hunted down Christian and killed them.He really hated Christians. His name is Saul of Tarsus. But Jesus had other things in mind.He appeared to him an asked him why are you dissing me.Converted him.An changed his name to Paul.

Works alone (being good) will not get one person into heaven.
Ephesians 2:8,9 plainly states:
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
Accepting what Christ did for you at the cross and truly repenting of one's sins is the only way to gain heaven.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

if you mean by being good, give money to sunday plate.
and then being mean to a homeless person, nope thats not
good enough.
a sin is a sin, period. no matter if you are a nun or priest,
you are still not worthy of heaven. only jesus was.
and by the grace of GOD and by jesus dying for our sins
are we allowed into heaven.
IF you believe in jesus and ask him with pure of heart
to be apart of your life and to help you to do the right thing
and to be a better person, have a relationship with jesus
not with mankind. you stand before GOD at judgement day
by yourself, live with your choices and your consequences.
but just know that NO one is worthy of heaven, by only by the grace of GOD, shall all of us be so blessed to have a place in heaven after we die.

Its not about being good or bad to get to heaven...it's about the judging that follows..everybody goes to paradise..to wait for the Judgment.

12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
