Nervous tension can be helped by knowing as much as you can about where you are going, who will be there and what's going on before you get there. Basically do your research. Breath, leave early so you have plenty of time.

If you are talking about medically, there are things like Prozac, Valium, etc.. that will mellow you out but if you can manage without drugs that is always best.

Just be prepared and aware and try to realize that tomorrow will come.
