What is prosperity? That's easy:
Grab a pencil and paper and write down any number between 1 and 9. Now write a "$" immediately to the left of that number. Next, write a bunch of zeros on the right side of the number.
That's how you define prosperity.

The world defines prosperity as gain in wealth or belongings. God defines prosperity as growth through Christ Jesus.

To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most, but is one who needs the least . Are you rich with God's blessings?.One of His greatest blessings is Wisdom.
Proverbs 3:13-15 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver,And the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies,And all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
Look at Solomon,he asked for wisdom to lead his people in God's ways, and God was impressed with his selflessness, that he granted it ,and also made him the Richest (through his wisdom) of any of the Kings of Judah.

The Word "Prosperity" has been widely used in the last period among christians all over the World. Many times it has been connected to a negative image, for all that some people see in prosperity is the example of Jim Baker, and his luxuriously dressed prostitute-like wife on PTL television channel.
But the question should be raised in the midst of the controversy: What is Biblical Prosperity? Does the Bible Teach about it? and why not all Christians experience it?
Prosperity in the Bible:
Idea of prosperity and the Whole Concept of it is found all over the Bible. You can read about it in the Old Testament as well as in the New one. Jesus taught it, as well as the apostles. Everywhere you read in the Bible, Prosperity is present somehow. So let go to define prosperity Biblically.
What is prosperity?
As we speak about prosperity it should be clear that we do not speak about extra luxurious life, irrespective of the situation of the needy people around us. We rather speak of "Prosperity in Christ". There is no "financial Limit" to prosperity, we can't draw a line of the level of prosperity that is Biblical. In general, prosperity means that all your needs are supplied with some extra riches, which you can use in the service of God and in helping others. I believe this is the lowest level of Prosperity that God wants for His Children. Prosperity does not mean having 20 villas and 30 cars, who needs all this?! (Though God may provide such riches to some of His Children, but this is not the promise to every Christian).
Let us be clear: asking God for money to reach the lost with the gospel is not greed. Refusing to be subject to financial hindrances, which stand in the way of achieving God's Plan for your life is not selfish at all. We have to be careful not to go to either of the extremes.
The Starting point: God cares for you.
When God created you, He gave you everything in abundance. He put Adam and Eve in a Paradise. He gave them the whole earth as an inheritance, and He commanded the earth to bear fruit. God's Will for them was Prosperity, abundance and success in whatever they do. He gave them dominion over all creation. Can you imagine Adam and eve, in paradise, not finding food to eat? Never, in fact a study of the Paradise as described in Genesis 2: 8-16 would prove that God put Good Gold, and nice perfumes in the Garden of Eden. In fact, one of the meanings of the Word "Eden" was "abundance". They both surely lived in Abundance.
The Cause of Poverty: Satan and Sin
It wasn't until Adam sinned that Poverty started. A curse came to earth as a result of sin. Satan, the origin of sin, was the person behind poverty. Since then, Satan is causing poverty and starvation in many places in the earth. Whenever you see people poor and starving to death or in need of the basic requirments of decent living, remember that this is not God's Will but Satan's way of killing them. But praise God, Jesus came to DESTROY the works of the enemy.
God is good
Through out the Bible, you can see that God is good. And "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights..." (James 1: 17 NKJ). "If you then being Evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, HOW MUCH MORE will your Father WHO IS IN HEAVEN give GOOD THINGS to those who ask Him!" (Matthew 7: 11 NKJ). The verse does not specify any kind of special "good Things", because it includes all Good Things.
Your Authority as a Son
Every son has authority over the possessions of his Father. In a similar manner, God gave you authority over His Kingdom. The reason for this is that He loves you, and cares for you. He gave you authority over His land, the earth. Financial blessings are part of your inheritance. while Satan has the power of poverty, you are already victorious over all the power of the enemy. Jesus gave authority to His disciples over all the power of the enemy, and you are given the same power.
