Thearubigin is the major pigment of black tea and it has anti-oxidative properties. Plant senescence involves lots of oxidative conversions, and it is reasonable to hypothesize that black tea would inhibit leaf senescence. I am not aware of such an experiment ever being done, however.

I know that the tannic acid in tea helps blood to clot...it stops bleeding... Does that help?
