yes, just cook extra of what you are already cooking and that way you won't have to worry about it later.

No I didn't do that. I have had 3 children, and didn't do it for any of them. I also was a mommy who had 3 C-Sections, and I love home cooked food each night. I did find it just as useful to stcok up on ingredients, like chicken, fish, or other meat products, and quick pastas, frozen veggies and such. I also stocked up on quick ready made foods. I did watch what kinds I bought though, and always made a healthy choice on those like lean meals or veggie burgers and had buns in the freezer too. If I had froze anything it would have been something like Lasagna. I always also made sure I had salad and baby carrots in the house for a quick snack or to go with lunch and dinner. Also kept apples a good loaf of wheat bread, and sliced American cheese. Not gormet, but definitely quick and easy. I also made sure to have soup in the cabinet or the ingredients for spagetti, always good.
Also when in a pinch, I would have hubby pick up a take n bake pizza, or a roasted chicken. Pair that with any of the forementioned items, that I always had on hand, and it was an instant meal. For me taking the time to plan on what to thaw can be hard enough. Also save your freezer space, and pack it with necessities instead, like bread, veggies, and you can even freeze milk right in the jug.

I didn't have time, my son decided to be born a month early. As a rule, I made and still make large dinners on Sundays so there are leftovers for a day or two afterward. TV dinners are not good for you, because they have alot of sodium and fillers that will make you fat. Even the "lean" dinners are just as bad as the regular ones. You are better off making food from scratch and freezing it in single or family sized portions. Always make a salad as your vegetable serving to save time. You can always use a crock pot if you want to have fresh meals every night. There are many kinds of foods you can cook in one. Just make sure you get a crock pot to where the crock lifts out for easy cleaning.

Yep! I froze a pan of lasagna and a sausage noodle casserole. Each dish was enough to serve my family two meals. Plus I got a couple of those crock pot meals that you can find in the frozen section, ready to dump into the crock pot. It made the meals following my c-section virtually painless! (I'm glad something was painless! LOL)
Also friends and neighbors brought a few meals by. I don't think I had to really prepare a dinner until a couple of weeks after I delivered!

Yes I did stock up on dinners. I went to M & M meats and bought things like cabbage rolls in bulk and then put them into individual containers. I also made meat loaf, casseroles, and I also stocked up on things like pre-packaged vegetables. So that I wouldn't have much to do when I got out of the hospital, and so that while I was in the hospital my husband wouldn't starve lol
