Yes. Personally I don't think anyone should drink or smoke marijuana but...they are never going to outlaw alcohol again and the marijuana "industry" is alive and thriving so why don't they just legalize it, tax it and make some real money on it instead of spending billions of dollars trying to get rid of it. Last week it was reported on the ABC news that "Marijuana is the top US cash crop..." I say capitalize on it, take it out of the local drug dealers hands and just be done with the whole thing. And please, if some cancer or glaucoma patient needs to have a little joint to alleviate some of their discomfort, LET THEM HAVE IT. What difference does it make if they have a few hits on a joint or a jolt of prescribed morphine. Really!!!!!!

I myself wouldn't do marijuana. I only take an over the counter med for my arthritis. But I don't think smoking marijuana is any worse than a person who drinks a lot. And trust me on this here where I live a lot of people drink and drive, because locally we have not a thing for people to do. No theater, bowling alley or anything. We have church and school activities. So all the people do here is party, and when they drink and drive, I think that is worse. That's my opinion,

First, you should know why marijuana was outlawed in the first place. See http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/Library/mj_outlawed.htm and http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/History/whiteb1.htm It is a funny and amazing story.
The US Government itself sends a big tin can full of 300 medicinal marijuana joints per month to a number of patients. The reason they do this is because some of those patients went to court and proved to a legal certainty that marijuana is the only medicine suitable for their needs.
Every major study of the drug laws in history has said that the marijuana laws were the product of racism, ignorance, and nonsense. They all said that marijuana should not be illegal for any purpose. You can find the full text of these studies at http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/Library/studies/studies.htm

Why shrink to scientific use? Why no longer decriminalize marijuana in small quantities for inner maximum use. and have it controlled like tobacco allotments and supply the government tax sales from it to boot? Tobacco is as addictive as heroin and yet this is on the cabinets of almost each and every nook shop. It has warning labels that it reasons illnesses that could kill. And yet it maintains to be bought. this is using the fact there is money to be made. and quickly there could be not greater money in illegally advertising marijuana. So as a result crime expenditures could fall.

I think that this issue is very tough. On one hand I think that allowing doctors to be able to prescribe medical marijuana should be allowed, yet I think that a system of acquiring marijuana through doctors would probably end up not working because it seems that these days anyone who wants a certain prescription can get it even if they do not have that ailment.

For which medical problems? Why don't you just tell the truth? You don't care about medical use you are wanting it for recreational use and figure that this is the easiest way to get it passed!

Absolutely!!!! If they can pump us full of man made drugs for pain that have lord knows what for a side effect, why not be able to partake in something natural? They just make more money off of it being illegal.
