Do not listen to anyone telling you to use cheap drugstore products.
they contain high amounts of wax. Waxes always make hair heavy and greasy.
instead get a good CLARIFYING shampoo and use only a light conditioner.
You can actually add a teaspoon of baking soda to a hand full of shampoo. and that will totally remove any oily buildup from your hair and scalp. Easy huh.
Most people with oily hair condition wrong. when you condition (and you should)... condition only the hair from your ears down. Do not get any conditioner even close to your scalp.
also avoid any styling products that add shine. These will add oils to your hair. especially shine sprays.
Use only voluming products these raise your cuticle and help your hair not to get to limp. also they lift hair away from the scalp and that is where the oil comes from.
also limit running your hands and combs and brushes through your hair after styling. You don't want to stimulate those pesky sebaceous (oil) glands in your scalp. and you don't want to transfer oils or what not from you hands to your hair.
Color your hair? coloring your hair changes the texture and porosity of your hair. colored hair doesn't get nearly as oily.
Good luck

Ive actually heard that if your hair gets oily to put baby powder in your hair. It apparently absorbs all of the oils and maybe try washing your hair more often than usual.

There are a couple things you can do.

1. When applying conditionar only apply to the mid shaft and ends of your hair. Your scalp produces its own oils and conditionar on top of your head will make it oiler sooner.

2. They make powders called dry shampoos(they come in the 4 major color groups of hair...so u don't need to worry about blending it in as much as baby powder) or even baby powder works...in a small about...you just apply and the powder absorbs the oil

3. Try shampoo to help...like Biolage Normalizing

Try switching around shampoos, it's not healthy to use the same product all the time. Talk to your hairdresser about it next time you get a haircut and make sure to use shampoo and conditioner.

Oddly enough it may because you are washing your hair too frequently or rubbing your scalp too vigorously. Your scalp may be over compensating by producing more oil. Try washing your hair more gently.

Use conditioners and protective shampoos, while washing it AT LEAST once a day, because if you don't it will probably get worse as it progresses.
