All the tattoos I see in magazines are more vibrant than the ones I see on people.

They are INTENSIFIED by using Photoshop for the mags.

The BIG problem is COVERING tattoos on models for "straight" magazines.

When I was a Fashion Photographer I had to turn away quite a few really fabulous models because of the Ta too thing.

In my opinion, a lot of people get really dull tattoos, or their artists do a really poor job of doing colors.

I have a friend with a gorgeous sleeve she just got done-- it is as vibrant as anything you'd see in a tattoo magazine.

If you go to a good artist you can get something just as bright. It might require more touching up, but it's possible with a good artist.

That is because either the tattoos were just done, or they were done with quality ink, by a trained professional. Ugly tattoos aren't photographed or exhibited. But, everything in any magazine is manipulated, take this from a training Graphic Designer.

It's a possibility that they edit the tattoos to make them look better for the magazine but it also may look more vibrant if they are fresh tats.

Most tattoo pictures are taken at conventions and shops, right after the piece is finished. The skin is still a little bit inflamed, so it makes the colors that much brighter and vibrant.

Probably, they airbrush people in magazines, why not tattoos.

Some of the best tats will share skin space with pimples. I would rather just see the ink.

That's causer they're usually taken as soon as they're done. Tattoos fade with time.
