I had a wisdom tooth pulled earlier today and the dentist gave me vicodin for the pain. It helped earlier when I took it about 4 hours ago. Well on the bottle is says take every 6 hours as needed but I'm in a lot of pain right now. Do you think 4 hours is enough time to go ahead and take another I'm practically in tears here.

four to six hours is the reccommended time between each dose, you should fine. you may want to try taking an anti inflamitory, such as motrin, as well as a painkiller. working together they will take off a great deal of pressure as the swelling goes down. good luck. hope this helped you a bit....

After surgery once, I was told that I could take my pain meds after 4 hours instead of 6 hours. But to be on the safe side you should try and contact the doctor who prescribed it or call the pharmacy and ask them about it.

Hmmm - tha tis atough one since the prescription instruction instructions usually should be followed to the letter. But when it comes to pain and pain medication there may not be any harm in taking one a bit early especially at the beginning of the prescription. Why not phone yoru pharmacist and ask - they would be able to inform you better than I or your dentist could.

Vicodin is addictive, be careful. Try eating Popsicles, ice cream or something cold. The pain will subside do not depend on pills.

I wouldn't take any chances with vicodin. Call your oral surgeon and ask. Maybe the dosage is not strong enough, but let him/her decide that.

Yes, just make sure you have food in your tummy. Depending on the dose, you can actually take 2 at the same time...with food.

Just call your Pharmacist and ask him. He will be able to tell you when it's safe to take more.
