age has nothing to do with this; ANY dog can be housetrained!
the speed with which she learns is a direct reflection of Ur ability to supervise her ALL the time that she is 'free' in the house, so keeping her in the same room as the human is very KEY.
when U canNOT supervise her, as when U are cooking, in the shower, busy at some task, etc, she should be in a crate.
same for when U are out of the house: crate her with a safe chew-toy or two. a stuffed Kong is an excellent pacifier for a dog, giving them some busy-work and keeping them content when U are out.
umbilical-training can be very cool ! U take Ur dog's 6ft leash, wrap it around Ur waist, slip the clip-end thru the wrist-loop, and clip the pup's collar onto the leash.
now where U go, dog goes, too. they learn to peaceably hang-out without being the focus of Ur attention, as of course, U ever so cleverly carry a chew-toy in Ur pocket to hand to Ur dog whenever U sit down or are stationary.
REMEMBER to look at/pet/praise/reward Ur dog when they are QUIET - so that they learn that calm behavior gets rewarded! many, many ppl make the error of only paying attention to the dog when they are doing wrong - so the dog learns that barking, jumping, whining, stealing sox, etc, is what gets attention. (oops...)

No matter what the age a dog can still be housebroken. This is becuase dogs live in the now, not in the past. It should be very easy for you to house train your dog because it is still a puppy. The best time to really train your dog is between the age of birth to 3yrs. At 3 is when they really mature and are no longer Adolescence.
So basically you have a 100% chance of being able to train her. I would reccomened puppy pads and crate training. These have worked very good for me in the past. The worse mistake owners make a lot of the time is scolding their pet after they have pottied in the house. This does nothing for them unless you actually catch them in the act. If you scold them after they have already done it then they have no clue why they are in trouble. Simply catch them in the act (you can do this by keeping a leash on them in the house or have them by you at all times) Simply in a low deep tone say no, be sure not to yell for that helps nothing, take her outside and say a command (go potty, potty, do it etc.) praise her when she goes with either treats or affection. Within a month she should be house trained, just be patient.
Good Luck!

I was in the same boat as you once. My husband brought home an olde english bulldogge that was 7 mo. old. Not including that we already had 3 boston terriers, but anyways. Santana, english bulldogge, had been kept outside in a kennel with no attention and had never been inside. Any kind of bulldog is hard headed so if we can train her then i'm sure your won't be that hard. The way I do it is take her outside after she eats and drinks. Reward her is she potties. If you catch her pottying in the house then get you a rolled up newspaper and bust her tail. It won't hurt her, the sound scares them. Then they know that is wrong.I DO NOT believe in rubbing their nose in their own mess like some people do. That is just cruel. Good luck with your new baby!!! and don't give up on her!!

Odds are very good actually a dog can be house trained at any age with the right patience and encouragement if it is a small dog please look into getting a sweater because he or she might not be used to the outside and you'll want to make him or her comfy as possible and encouage the good behavior with lots of love and treats and don't go overboard with punishment for bad behavior otherwise he/she will go inside the house out of fear encouagement and praise will be rewarded with the unconditional love of a pet.

Consistency is the key to housetraining. Puppies need to use the bathroom when they wake up, after they eat, after they play and before bedtime. So you have to be there to take her outside everytime. And when she does her business where's she's supposed to, lavish her with praise and hugs. Tell her what a genius dog she is and how clever she is for doing what she just did. If she makes a mistake inside, and you catch her in the act, pick her up and take her outside immediately. Don't yell, or spray water, or shake a can of pennies at her. She just doesn't get it yet. When she is home alone when no one can watch her, she should be crated. Dogs rarely mess in their crates. The crate needs to be large enough for them to stand up and turn around, but not big enough for her to pee in one corner and sleep in another. As soon as you get home, let her out of the crate and take her right outside. Don't be discouraged, it can take some time for pups to get the idea. Just get really excited when she pees and poops outside.

Just like everyone else said very good. Just be presistant, it helps to have a 'trigger word' when you take her outside keep telling her,"go potty" or whatever and when she does pee praise her and be excited. Its also not a good idea to take her inside right away play with her a little after she pees so she doesnt think that if she pees she HAS to go inside right away and she wont get her outside play time. and dont yell at her when you find poop or pee in the house it teaches her to hide it from you. If you see her doing it make a loud noise, clap or something to stop her then take her outside right away eventualy she will get the idea.

My dog was 9 months old and not house trained when we got him (A collie) And we were able to train him. You have to take him out and go out with him and when he does his duty outside you need to praise him and give him a treat. And of course, scold him when he goes inside.

You can teach an old dog a new trick. The younger they are when you train them, the better. It is very possible to train your doggie.

it's definately possible. you just have to be persistant, it may take longer than it would with a younger dog. then again the dog could catch the idea right away, it all depends on the dog, and its intelligence level.
