Olives are my absolute favourite snack. Did you know however that many commercially available olivers are contaminated with glucous feronates (not sure if I've spelt that right). The worst culprits are the ones that are uniformly black. They are not black olives but green ones left to oxidize (which makes them black) then the colour is fixed with the GF. GF has been linked with alzheimers amongst agricultural workers so check the labels before you buy. The best olives I have ever eaten are produced by a fab company called Olives et al http://www.olivesetal.co.uk No chemicals and fantastic flavour. They do kilner jars with one and a half pounds of olives for around a tenner and you don't have to keep them in the fridge. Treat yourself - I swear you will never return to supermarket bought olives.

The olives with the blue cheese and the olives with the garlic clove are very good also. I love a good quality olive! I like those pickled beans.

you're gonna love the feta olives - especially if accompanied by huge slices of ripe tomatoes spinkled with salt and black pepper....
