You should really put her into a toddler bed or matress on the floor as she can hurt herself otherwise. Then teach her to go to bed and do as another person said, reward her on the nights she stays there. However, get used to the interrupted nights, not every night but they will often come in to visit with bad dreams and other things. Always take her back to bed and do not cave in and let her in your bed unless you want her up every night! It is a phase and you will get through it!

I completly disagree with the person who said use candy. Thats a huge bribe. I would do a diffrent reward. You can use a sticker chart or a reward jar. With the jar, use a peanut butter jar. For every night that she stays in her room, you can put one of those big lego blocks in it. Once the jar is full, reward her with something but NOT AN OBJECT. Do something that she loves to do but you limit her. The sticker chart works pretty much the same way. You can also use the gate idea someone suggested.

Baby proof the room and put a gate up in the doorway. My pediatritian suggested this. If you have a dresser or large furniture make sure it is mounted to the wall in case the try to climb it. I've heard stories of furniture falling on kids who wake up at night and no one hears.

i had the same problem with my daughter. i ended up putting a baby gate up in her doorway, i wouldnt recommend the ones that can be taken down. the ones that are screwed into the doorway are harder to open. you have to make sure its low enough to the ground, so she wont get stuck under it. i keep her door open, and the baby gate closed after i put her to bed. sometimes, she gets up out of bed, and falls asleep by the door, but i just put her back in bed and she's fine.

Sounds bad but I know someone who put shoes on his kid and tied the laces together. If they can"t lift their foot over the side they can't get out. It does keep them safe at night, that is the point. You don't want your child to get herself into a dangerous situation while everyone is asleep.
