I'm in the 7th grade and all of my friends have boyfriends. I just don't understand. I guess that today, in the world that we live in, everybody is in such a big hurry to grow up. A lot of guys ask me out but i don't see the point of saying yes unless i'm one of those wannabees who only does it to be popular. But i'm nothing like that. All of my friends try to talk me into going with just any other guy, but when somebody random that i don't even know asks me to be his girlfriend it's like there's nothing special between us. I want my boyfriend to be somebody i like...not somebody who just likes me for my bod. So what i'm asking is how do i get my friends to realize that I just haven't met anyone who i feel comfortable around in that kind of way, and how do i give the guys a hint that i want to become there friend so that we can grow into a stronger relationship?

a good age to start is a little later, about 15/16
you'll be in high school, you'll be more mature, guys will be more mature (but honey, some guys will always want you for your body, I'm in college and it's always a problem)
1st - try to make more friends who are SINGLE, they will help you keep your cool and have fun without worrying about dating
2nd - if you dress in clothes that show off too much of your body, try not to dress that way anymore. (I'm not saying you do, I'm just suggesting you dress more conservatively)
3rd - if you have a brother near your age and he has friends, try first being friends with them, then maybe meeting more guys (as friends). I found these guys will be the best to find the best guy for you because they will see you as a sister and pal. (If you think that's corny, wait until you're older, you'll be happy you started early.)
(sorry this is so long, lol, but good luck! and enjoy your time being single!!!!)

You are in the 7th grade. I assume that you are probably 12 or 13. I am wondering what your friend's parents think of them having boyfriends at that age. However, to answer your question, just tell your friends that you don't want to date anyone yet. You haven't met anyone that is that special to be your boyfriend. And when you do, you will date him. Then tell them to drop the subject. Do not, under any circumstances, give in to peer pressure. You will get enough of that as you get more into your teen years and it will be really hard to maintain your values. Be determined and strong starting now and do not compromise your values. Do what is best for you and not whats best for others. Oh, and talk to your parents about it too. They really aren't that bad.

Tell your friends directly that you don't want to get into a relationship with anyone who you don't feel comfortable with.
Then tell the guys that you want to become friends before dating.
Also, a good age to start dating is 16.

take it from a guy who is big on girls. when u start to date it becomes a habit, a MUST, and then u start to fade on ur work. i like girls and before that i was doing GREAT on my grades. then i went and got a girl for 2 years and 3 months and my grades slowly decreased. so i would not recommend it until like after collage.
a way to tell your friends is just to say "i just want to focus on my life and grades" or "im not ready" im in 8th grade and trust me when i asked a girl out she said "i wasnt ready" so i told my friends she wasnt ready and they were like "ok" so just say im not ready. it will be ok.
if they dont like you because of you not being ready then dont hang out with them anymore. real friends dont dislike there friends for what they belive or like.
do what u like and
rate me =)

I think that no one should b in a rush to grow up. 11or 12 years old is too young to date.we have too much teen pregancy in this world. i think 16 is a good age to date.

My ideal age is 65, when I retire. That's when I'll have time to give a damn about men. The rest of the time, I have a career to focus on.

Always be as strong as you are. You are intelligent. Enjoy being a kid. Maybe in 3 years, you'll be ready to date.
