Or should I even thank her for saving me? ...because I really hadn't invited her over--the neighbor girl. She just sort of snuck into my apartment while I was watching television...and choking on my cough drop also I suppose.

I suspect that she only stopped by after a long day of unsuccessfully stalking me; since I hadn't gone outside because of my cold, she didn't catch a glimpse of me as she usually does. I was only lucky that she stopped by then...in time to punch me in the chest and dislodge the cough drop.

But, alas, how can I thank her without leading her on? I verbally expressed my thanks immediately afterwards as well. Should anything else be done?

And don't tell me to lock my door; I often have been locking it because of that girl, but in my ill state, I must have forgotten...

you could thank her and give her some tickets to a movie that she might be wanting to see. (Give her two tickets and tell her to invite a friend so she doesnt think your coming)

Sounds like you were sent an "Angel" at the time you needed one.

That simple Thank You that you've already gave her should be fine, but if you want to do something else..that's ok as well.

Maybe give her a gift card to her favorite restaurant.
Just let her know that you really appreciated what she did, and leave it at that.

Another reason she may seem a little 'odd' could be she has some sort of condition. For me, my son has Autism. He looks perfectly normal, acts that way a good portion of the time, with the exception of odd behaviors. Same thing for other problems. Understanding the problem can help know how to handle the person, without "leading them on" so to speak. Just a thought.

You already said thanks so don't engage her again in conversation and if she tries to use the situation to talk to you tell her you are grateful but since you don't view her in a romantic way you see no need to discuss it further.

You already said thanks, thats good enough for a stalker. Report her. And I won't tell you to lock your door, but maybe get a better lock?
