You make it sound like intellectual rationalizations are a bad thing! It's not shocking, though, as I expect you may have a twisted idea of who an intellectual is and how you can characterize them. I suppose you might even look down on rationalization as well.
Why is it that you think sarcasm, in any form, is an internal motivating factor that would guide someones thoughts? It is a result of feelings that are already there.
Does your disdain for true intelligent thought and rational thinking prevent you from seeing the real truths of the universe(not the religious falsehoods)?
That being said, you probably do not realize that spirituality does not necessarily have ANYTHING to do with supernatural, religious beliefs and stories. I hold nothing against spirituality.

I am a Christian and if I have given any intellectual rationalizations or made any egotistical sarcasms then I humbly ask the forgiveness of anyone I've offended. I'm not saying I have but I know that human nature gets in the way of our doing God's will sometimes. Jesus Christ was a meek and humble man who loved humanity and by taking his name I hope I do nothing more or less than testify of him.
