Okay I received a ticket for leaving the scene and failure to yield. Let me tell you what happened I was going to make a left turn and got hit in the rear knocking me in to the nexy lane where a car hit me. The driver that hit me from the rear got a ticket also. After getting hit I moved my car off the road thus getting a ticket for leaving the scene ( I was still on the scene ). The cop was older and was very abrasive I thought he was racist because he started screaming at me and handcuffed me at the scene. Another officer made him release me. Going to court I was pulled out of line by the court officer put in line with about 10 others, all our tickets were dismissed, The judge apologized to me and the others that received tickets from this officer. The court officer said that the officer that gave me the ticket did this often. I am really glad that I got off, but wondered what happens to officers that are known for giving erroneous tickets.

well first let me say I am very sorry that this happened to you.
I bet that the officer got into some trouble with his chain of command brass (probably told on by the cop that made the aszhole release you).
By dismissing your case, of course you dont get the chance to go infront of the judge and tell him about the officer and he gets to continue having 'bad days'. I know that it sucks but to be honest with you, I would leave it alone.
Chances are better than not that they wont believe you anyway and if they do, he will get a free vacation (paid leave). In my state the discipline records of a cop arent even open for the public to review.
Again I am sorry this happened to you.
The officer is a jerk and hopefully he will get his !

Sorry, yet you left the scene. If the owner of the different motor vehicle had back while you have been in school and pushed away before noticing the wear and tear, s/he could in no way have been able to become attentive to you. Plus it took you 4 HOURS to come back back on your vehicle. there's no way which you have been sitting in a class without a smash for that finished 4 hour era, so there is 0 clarification for you no longer coming back to leave a word. which you left your motor vehicle there (assuming which you left your motor vehicle parked in very close proximity to the motor vehicle you hit) ought to be a good factor on your want with the aid of fact it shows which you probably did no longer make an affirmative attempt to cover what you had finished. Plead no longer accountable - fantastically in case you probably did no longer make the effort to park your vehicle hell and long previous from the only you hit. (till you have already given yet another tale to the police, i could play the "i'm a dumb college student" card - you meant to come back back and positioned a word on the different vehicle in between training yet you completely forgot. And if the different vehicle were long previous once you receive back to the vehicle parking zone, you could have notified college protection and could have been finding for that vehicle day after in the present day to enable the owner be attentive to what had got here approximately.) i think of this is in all possibility you may get the crime lessened.

No, it has not happened to me. I only write tickets for leaving the scene when you actually leave the scene, like drive far away. Then you not only get a ticket, you go to jail and have your license revoked. Apparently the department will take care of the officer who wrote the tickets.

you really need to follow up and file charges against him. also have the others that were dismissed file as well there is nothing worse than a bad cop and it sounds like he has had too many days dealing with bad guys to distinguish who is bad and who is good anymore. file a complaint along with the others and try to get him off the force. imagine if he had pulled his gun and just started shooting whether it was racial or not he needs to be removed. good luck and post if anything comes of it. happy new year=)

Yes this has happened to everyone. Cops just waste time giving bogus traffic tickets to people for the hell of it. Then they go home and molest their children, thinking they can get away with it because they are cops and are above the law.

Well you will never get "any truck" by screaming "he is a racist". Because that is said over and over. Mention that as your defence............ because africaran americans say that in most any situation. Point is..... wear nice clothes and don't act like... you know. Look like a butt and you get it no matter what...... thats the way it is.Nothing happens to the officers as there are so many homies out there. It would be great if people would stop blaming the man and take care of taking care of their own..... no more pity potty thing.

well it doesnt really make sense why he would write you a ticket if you were just pulling off the road. and theres a difference between cops talking and yelling. they sound mean both ways but the yelling is a louder version of the talking. lol anyway its good to hear you got off...

The courts are really clogged up. The last thing the police or the courts want is things like this wasting more time. This officer annoyed you once. He or she has annoyed the courts multiple times. The are being more harassed than you don't worry about it.

Obviously, the judge probably took care of the officer if he had to apologize for his actions hopefully.
