I was a mom when i turned 16 i love my daughter to death i wouldnt change a thing about it...if i could do it all over again id still gotten pregnant then..even with the same guy even tho he left...you know ive learned A LOT of things by being a young mom....even if most people thing if you get pregnant young your a slut and everything else...but what amazes me...is even if your in your 30s or 40s and are having children it doesnt make you a good mom...you still could be a terrible mom...just because your older doesnt mean you can afford it...doesnt mean you can bond with them better.... it has nothing to do with that at all...and then theres people who have like 4 kids and there in there 30s and there horrible parents they scream and cuss at there kids..but no one really says much about that.....its more of the teens...why do people dwell on that so bad? Weird isnt it? how a teen can be a better mom then some 30 year old woman? Not saying anyone is like that but there are some

Your right people do stereotype us and it sucks. I am 19 y/o, I have a handsome 5 month old baby boy and I am proud of being momma. It doesn't matter young or old you are, what matters is how you love and raise your child.

My husband and I are working 3 jobs between the two of us and I'm 21 with my first child. My mother thinks that this was too young and that I should be getting an education instead of raising a child and having a husband.I wouldn't trade my life for the world.
My parents worked hard all their lives to have the beautiful home on 30 acres, a dream home! They go on family trips every year with my younger siblings, but they don't SPEND TIME together. They are all either at work, or at school, or out on a date. They never...connect. I don't want that life. Someone may say that I'm wrong and I should want better for my daughter and children to follow, but I would rather be broke and happy than rich and wondering why I'm miserable and my children hate me...
As for the screaming thing, I HATE THAT! No child deserves to be treated that way. If you're 'too busy' to stop and figure out why your child is yelling their head off in the middle of Walmart, you shouldn't have had kids. If you're too busy to spend at least one hour of one on one time with each of your children a day, you shouldn't have had kids. And if you want a child because 'all your friends are getting pregnant'-just like getting married when 'everyone is doing it', please know that a child IS NOT A STATUS SYMBOL!
Thank you for allowing me to rant!

I wish more mothers, regardless of their age had this attitude about raising their kids. You are right, parents of all ages make mistakes, do the wrong thing by their children, are abusive and should never have been parents in the first place.
All you can do is get out there and show the world that you do not fit into their "typical" stereotype of teen mothers, be the exception to the rule and bring up and much loved and well adjusted child. That will be your reward. Good Luck.
The best revenge is success.

I had my first when I was 14 and my mom and my grandma were the only ones who supported my decision to not abort or give my baby up for adoption. I am now 22 and the most family oriented you can get. You indeed are correct... there are many women out there who are of a socially acceptable age who have children that I think shouldn't.
