I have gymnastics conditioning every day for about 5 hours. Our coach wanats us to have a six pack so we have been working hard at it. It has been 9 days and my stomach feels like it is ripping in two when I sit up or anything. Is this normal?? What does it mean?? Should I continue working out??

Your muscles need to heal! When you workout, your muscles tear. Thats why your supposed to wait a day in between strength training sessions; gives your muscles time to rebuild and become stronger. Tell your coach hes training you all too hard and you need a day off. Your body is begging you to.

When you over work your muscles, they tear. When they are painful, they are healing. It sounds like you are on a very strong regime. Dont worry. When I was in Marine Corps boot camp, I was sore almost the whole time. I came out with a buff body. Just remember to rest when you have the time. This is when the muscles repair themselves. Stretching also helps release the chemical that is in the muscle making it sore also. Good luck

there are many things that can cause abdominal pain, but with your level of conditioning it sounds like you likely injured your ab muscles. if so, you NEED to stop working them now, or you run the risk of hurting them even more, and maybe doing permanent damage. you should most definitely let your coach know what is going on; i'm sure he wouldn't want you injured. you should also talk to a doctor. your best bet would be to stop doing your workouts for a bit to see whether you are getting better. with your amount of conditioning, you are sure to be sore, but you shouldn't be experiencing terrlble pain. good luck!

If its unbearable, stop. If you havent worked out in awhile b4 this, ur muscles are probably just getting used to working out, stretch b4 and after working out so that blood does not pool in your muscles (thats what muscle pain usually is) Unless its unbearable its probably fine. Itll get better as you work out more.

Bo six packs ever, end of discussion. Ask the doctor about what you are doing.

You've probably been working too hard. You should start with less strenuous exercises and build up to what you are doing now.
