I'm not Catholic, but in the Catholic religon, Suicide is considered one of the mortal sins and will get you banished to hell. But, if you're in hell, can you visit people just like people in heaven can visit each other?

Does the Bible say anything about this?

Also: If you wanted to see someone you lost in Hell, would suicide not be the easiest route to get yourself there? (Assuming you believe the Catholics are right, and that suicide will get you banished to hell).

I know this probably sounds like a stupid question, but It's been on my mind lately since the loss of a friend (and if you think I'll kill myself to see her you're wrong. I don't believe the Catholic's view of suicide as a mortal sin.)

Okay, seriously, jerks. I post here for a reason. If you want your 2 points for posting crap, go post somewhere else. You're wasting everyone's time with your "sh17 creek" and your visiting hours.

I know one religion's take on your question is that people in hell cannot visit heaven. From the way most religions describe hell, I really couldn't care less who was down there, I wouldn't want to join them. It could even be my mom and given the choice, I'd probably just stick with going to heaven. And yes, it would seem that according to the religion, suicide would be a sure fire way to get yourself to hell to visit pals.

P.S. I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

well sorry to say this but the catholic religion got this a Little mixed up to put things nicely, I do not believe that suicide will banish you into hell if Jesus died to save us from our sins before your sins were ever committed doesn't it make sense that that includes suicide. the bible docent say too much about hell but it would be a good thing if we could visit those we love in hell and I don't think hell was intended to be a good place.

Only God can tell you that. When the time comes for Judgement day, it will be God who decides what. God Loves all of us and when we all die, only God will know where our eternity will be spent. It is not only the Catholic's who believes the outcome of suicide, but most religions and the Holy Bible tells us about suicide and it falls under the Fifth Commandment of Thou Shalt Not Kill. God gave us that Commandment to safegaurd out lives. Life is the most precious gift. God gave us life and and only He alone has the right to take life.(in death). I want you to know that the Catholic thoughts on suicide , coinside with other Religions. God is a Forgiving God, but He tells about, we should not kill.

I come from the occult tradition based in esoteric buddhism,,,,,,,
and a suicide goes to purgatory and relives their life (emotionally) often very painful..... this is a purification period but they do eventually purify..... often suicides, become ghosts as they realize the pain they have done to others and wish to set it right before going to the light(so to speak)
they are fine, do not worry about them, if you feel inclined you can sacrifice something in order to quicken their pain/purification..... like donate money in their name.......etc...... The human realm actually has a certain amount of influence over the astral..... praying for them also helps.......

the catholics changed the rule about suicides as people were commiting suicide to go to heaven and they had to change the rule..... to eternal damnation,,,,,,,

I also would say forgive them for the pain they caused you,,,,quickly as it slows their growth,,,,,,

and........you will see them again......

well you may need to organize a hellport, and board the boat to sh1tcreek and be escorted through customs, where there's body checks and the usual customs, and fill in the forms, what's your mode here; 1. stay, 2. visit 3. work and from there you'll be able to meet the relevant people and see that everything is quite rosy and the sun is beaming and the sands are hot.

16:19
"There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day.
16:20
At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores
16:21
and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
16:22
"The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried.
16:23
In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.
16:24
So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'
16:25
"But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.
16:26
And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'
16:27
"He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house,
16:28
for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'
16:29
"Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.'
16:30
"'No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'
16:31
"He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.'"

Suicide is the fastest way I know of to get there, problem is that once your there, it's forever. This life is a one shot deal that will get you to one place or another and with no second chances. So, i dont advise it. PEACE!!!
