lol well quite - I still cringe every time I hear or see "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve"...Yeah, right, good work by all at the Rhyming Nonsense department there, might like to cross-check with the Non-Fiction department next time though...
Oh yeah. I forgot - there's a bullhorn evangelist at our mall at the moment - he's quite famous in the UK, as he's earned himself a couple of Antisocial Behaviour Orders and been moved on from more prominent positions. First ran into him about five years ago at the Notting Hill Carnival, and now he's close to my home, and his main chant is a masterpiece of rhyming gibberish -
"Are you a sinner? Or are you a winner?"
When I first heard it, all those years ago, it sounded almost intriguing for the first few minutes. Five years on, I have to admit, if I was undecided about Christianity, it would make me WANT to be a sinner, just to be able to answer him properly!
:o)

the question is not if it rhymes. The question should be, am I living the life that pleases God. If you do not want to celebrate the birth of Jesus that is your choice, do not hate us that do. I bet you celebrated with giving and receiving of gifts. I wonder how many people desire to give their lives to Jesus. CHRISTmas- means Christ's birth. If they have a day to remember Martin Luther King and Presidents day, why not the SAVIOR of the world. I chose Christ every day. If you dont like the poem , that is your choice. But for me Jesus is not only the reason for the season- He is the reason I live.

Forget profound... some people think it makes that thing more credible, too!
An interesting piece of trivia though... the shortest poem ever written is...
Adam had 'em.

Because of the dumbing down of people. Everything needs to be put in the form of rhymes, and catchy phrases in order to convince people they have meaning
"if it doenst fit, you must acquit"
"cutting and running, running and cutting...blah blah"
"im a uniter, not a divider"
it goes on and on.

many people like to showboat - some do it by latching on to clever sayings and repeat them casually as if they originated them. I guess they think it makes them appear clever.
some i'm really tried of are:
-6 of one, half dozen of another
-greased lightening
etc..

Hard to refute,
what seems so cute.
If can't be deep,
It's penned by sheep.
