I've been thinking, is the messiah here, now? It would take some time to do all of those things JC is supposed to do. Oh, and one more kicker, did he return as a male?

Some information before you answer: Several million people die each year and we're coming up on one of the biggest older populations ever with the baby boomers hitting their 50's. What we take as normal, ie the natural deaths of a large population, would be quite shocking to a prophet in JC's time.

We've already had several very devistating natrual disasters over the last decade. Again, what to us is a ho-hum normal day on TV, would be shocking to a prophet of JC's time.

So, based on the above, wouldn't it be logical that Jesus has already returned and is working right now to heal the world?

Secondary question: Do you really think you'd recognize who it is?

O.K. I suppose I forgot to add reincarnation into the mix. What if JC was saying that he(she) would come back that way? The term "coming back" doesn't exclude this possibility. So, we could include this into the perameters for working through the question at hand. All Theories have a foundation of accepted perameters. So, now including the above perameters, could we logicaly conclude that he(she) is already here.

By the way, please don't assume what I believe, based upon my question. Thanks for all the great answers so far!

I think He's been back several times, in many different guises, working undercover, so to speak. I mean, if he made Himself known, people would only try to kill Him again, and what would that accomplish?

It's an interesting idea. I particularly like your thought that Jesus might be a woman.

But, you ask "So, based on the above, wouldn't it be logical that Jesus has already returned and is working right now to heal the world?" I think you should really think through what logic is. Before it can be logical, you'd have to prove that Jesus is actually Divine, i.e. that He can actually come back from the dead. Many of us believe that Jesus was merely a human being who had some great ideas. Even the early Christians were divided on this matter. Some of them even saw the first ressurrection in purely metaphorical terms.[1] In fact, it was only because Emperor Constantine put archers at the Council of Nicia that the canonized version of the Gospels that we do today.

Logically, if someone tells us that flying pigs exist, the burden of proof is on that person to prove it. Without that proof, the best logical conclusion is to put flying pigs down at the bottom of the list of most likely possibilities about the universe along with all other things that haven't been proven. It's also possible that Dionysos is God and anyone who hasn't been having enough drunken orgies will burn in Hell.

I respect your right to your religious beliefs, but, with all due respect, logically, the Divinity of Jesus must be put right down with this Dionysos is God hypothesis and flying pigs. So, if you want to believe that Jesus has already returned, that's fine, but I think you should rethink claiming that this belief is logical.

You seem to have no concept of who Jesus really is or know His Word.
His second coming has not happened. He dwells in the hearts of His people.
The male question is a carnal mind at enmity against God.
Jesus knows all things about our present day situation and prophesied about this very time so there won't be any surprises to Him when He returns.
Jesus was not just a prophet. He was and is God in the flesh.
In spite of the false statements preceding your second question, Jesus works through the spirit and through His children in this present world who are the salt of the earth.
Yes, you will know Jesus when He returns whether or not you are saved or lost. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess. I think you are looking more for the anti-Christ than for Jesus Christ. If your name is not written in the Lamb's book of life, you will take the mark of the beast. Those whose sins are covered whose robes have been washed by the blood of Jesus will not take it. When the world says "Peace, Peace", beware because then sudden destruction cometh upon the earth. It's more important you know who He is NOW rather than later.

1 Cor 15:50-58

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

When Jesus returns it will be in the twinkling of an eye. Humans won't even be able to perceive it. The only evidence you will have is that all the REAL Christians will simply disappear off of the face of the earth. Unless you've noticed an enormous number of missing people.....like billions all over the world....the Jesus hasn't returned yet.

No Jesus has not returned to earth yet, because if He had I would not be writing this, I would be praising Him face to face. When Jesus comes those of us who chose to accept Him as Savior will meet Him in the air, either be raised first from the grave, and for those who remain we will be caught up together with HIm in the air. Jesus will come only in God's timing. I will recognize Him because I will be with Him when He returns. It is not us to ask or predict when Jesus comes again, however the Bible says to be ready. That means accept Him as Savior and live in His grace and love

Yes, He has already returned, gathered up all 3 of the True Christians on Earth, and made His getaway.

Didn't you hear all the trumpeting?

Oh yeah, only the Righteous heard it.

Never mind.

I wonder how long it is going to take people to realize that Jesus is not coming, I wonder what it is that people like to be disappointed so much, hoping for something that will never be.
