Have the seller sign the title. Take to the DMV and pay a fee of about $15-$25
If you bought it from a family member, often you do not have to pay sales tax.

This depends on the state. When a car changes hands sales tax must be paid on the amount of the sale. If it seems to be too low, many states have a Presumptive Value Tax they can apply based on book value.

There will also be title and registration fees which vary from state to state. Some states also require a signed application for title, or a notarized bill of sale. Check your state DMV website for requirements.

The previous owner should have signed the back of title, conveying ownership to you.
Send it to the Department of Motor Vehicles to obtain a title in your name.
You may be able to do it at the local DMV, not sure.
A small fee is required.

if its a family memeber then have them say they sold you the car for 20 bucks or giving as a gift some times they dont charge you on that... if not i think its 50 to 100 bucks.

touch the branch of motorcars and desire like hell it wasn't stolen! without the identify, you may not register the motor vehicle. in case you have not have been given a sparkling identify, then you definately do not own the motor vehicle. i'm specific it is not insured the two.
