There's nothing wrong with thinking about your future. It's good to think ahead. But at 13, you should be more concerned with getting into a good high school. And then when you get to high school, make college your concern.

Just don't forget to live your life along the way. Don't lose sight of your dreams, either.

If you want to go to the U of Arkansas, then apply there when you are old enough to do so.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with planning for your future at such an early age. However, be mindful that life constantly changes around you -- sometimes on a day-to-day basis.

I, too, had a general plan for my life at age 13. However, almost all of that plan had to be adjusted as various factors in my life changed -- new experiences, new friends, new viewpoints on life, etc. Be prepared to make similar changes to your plan.

Finally, enjoy your youth. It's hard for you to understand today, but you will look back on these days when you are older. Make sure the memories you have are good ones. You are only young once -- enjoy this time in your life!

It's OK to think ahead. Just remember to take time to enjoy your adolescence, and, while it's good to have a focus, don't be too rigid about your plans.
