I cook and freeze meals ahead of time and sometimes things get freezer burn using bags.

Yes they are a good product. We have used them for freezing meats and vegetables and already cooked dinners. If you buy the family packs of meat you save money and you can separate them into individual servings. Freeze bread products first. Mine has the option to stop the suction process so not to squeeze the life out of bread. Make sure the vacuum edge is clean or it will not seal. You can make your own size bags depending on what you are freezing. And no freezer burn. The food taste just as good as the day it was first cooked. My husband has also vacuum sealed spark plugs and parts for his boat so they would stay dry just in case he was out fishing and need them for his boat motor.

I don't use it like I should because I just find it hard to store and keep getting out to use, we're empty nesters now, etc., but........when my daughter was in college, I would cook big meals on the weekends and send lots of individual meals back with her. She was in heaven.
Her favorite was french onion soup that I made by placing the bag inside a bowl, filling it half full with soup, topping it with mozarella cheese, then topping with seasoned croutons. I'd seal it and put it in the freezer, still in the bowl. When she wanted to eat it, she'd cut it out of the bag and place the frozen bowl shaped soup into a bowl and microwave. Yummm making me hungry right now.
I'd say it would work great for you if you do make the meals ahead of time. Really almost tastes like you just made it.

Oh definitely. I bought one for myself a month or so ago. I put some cheese into a bag to try it out and that cheese is still fine. After the new year, I plan on emptying my freezer of all the freezer-burnt items and from then on, when I buy stuff, it's going to get vacuum-sealed. Hopefully, it will save me money and pay for itself with the food I won't have to throw away.
