I agree I would want to tell her myself too. The best way is to be open and honest but not way graphic. And leave it open if she has anymore questions. She will appreciate it, even though it might be embarrassing for both of you at the time.

geez, I don't envy you. I have a 12 yr old and 11 yr old and dread a conversation on that topic. But you are right to want to tell her yourself, not have her hear it from others. Good for you!!
I think I would start with telling her about sex in general and use that time to express your own values on the topic to her. Then I would tiptoe into the foreplay area and give kind of a generalization without being too graphic. I remember being 14 and the whole idea of sex grossed me out anyway, I think hearing details about that would have really done me in!!!
Let her know your values an how you would like her to have those same values. Let her know there is still a risk of STD's with oral sex, and that oral sex is still a part of sex and should be saved for that special someone. Not given away to anyone! (just my 2 cants...take it or leave it)

OMG - You are really in a rough spot. I understand how you feel though. i would rather my daughter hear it from me than another teenager. Start off by asking where she heard it. Dont force her to talk about though. Explain to her that "eating someone out is another way of saying oral sex. Explain to her what oral sex is if she doesnt know and let her know that is the same as sex (most teenagers think that oral sex is just like kissing - make sure she knows its not). Hope this helps and good luck.

Oh wow. I just heard it from my friends.
Just tell her... as gently as possible. And don't be too graphic. She most likely already has some kind of idea of what it is.
