Strange?! Has there been no family function that occurred in which he was expected to bring his girlfriend?!! Christmas, thanksgiving, Easter?!? Does he talk about his family? He may not have a good relationship with is family, so you may not be the issue, they may be the issue. You still should have met even casually. None of them have shown up at his place while you were there? None of them have called while you were in his presence? After a year and a half you should be able to bring up family and ask questions. This is not a marriage issue, just an issue of shared intimacy. I have Platonic friends who have met my family if they've been in my life long enough.

I don't think their is a time limit, but if you guys have or were dating for over a year then yeah you should meet each other parents. It also (from what I've seen) it depends a on your background/up-bringing. In the Hispanic culture you have to introduce your parents to each other, at least the guy need to meet the parents, it's a sigh of respect.

Unless his entire family are living in another country, which would make it difficult for you to meet them - I'd say he's married.

A little strange. Does he live with them? if so even more odd. If you don't want to marry him and he has not introduced you to his family why are you with him?

Maybe he's not family oriented. How does he refer to his family? Lovingly or distant? Maybe he's saving YOU from a bad or really boring night. Ask about them, and see what his reaction is.
